Cedar Crossing Casino & Entertainment Centre in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, will open to the public in mid-November, launching earlier than initially planned. The $275 million facility will begin operations following accelerated construction progress.
Construction Timeline and Opening Events
Peninsula Pacific Entertainment Chief Development Officer Stefan Huba attributed the early timeline to detailed planning, streamlined procurement, local workforce utilization and favorable weather conditions. The property stands as the largest casino investment in Iowa history. Management has moved the official opening celebration to December 4 and 5, replacing the previously scheduled December 31 date.The 160,000-square-foot complex will host a 1,500-seat entertainment venue programmed for over 100 annual performances. The inaugural schedule begins with the Pork Tornadoes on November 25, followed by Old Dominion on December 5, Steve-O on December 12 and the Eli Young Band on January 22, 2027. Additional confirmed acts include Switchfoot, James "Murr" Murray, the Ying Yang Twins with Paul Wall, Parmalee, the Marshall Tucker Band, the Red Hot Chili Pipers, the Commodores and Carrot Top.
The venue will also operate Jocko’s Comedy Club, featuring a Thursday Comedy Series with Brooks Wheelan, Josh Blue and Greg Hahn.
Executive Vice President and General Manager Kim Pang stated that "Cedar Crossing is designed to be much more than a casino. The property is intended to become a destination for gaming, dining, comedy and live entertainment while creating new reasons for residents and visitors to spend time in Cedar Rapids." The facility will include Clubhouse by Zach Johnson and an Arts and Cultural Centre.
Ticket sales launch on August 7, with Charter Members receiving a 24-hour presale window. Hiring for gaming operations, food and beverage and hospitality roles will commence in September through the company website, LinkedIn and Indeed.
The casino has introduced a Points Partner Program enabling reward redemption at more than 20 local businesses. A shuttle service will connect the property with nearby hotels, downtown Cedar Rapids, Czech Village and the New Bohemia district. Under the operating agreement, the facility will allocate 8 percent of net adjusted gross revenue to the Linn County Gaming Association to fund nonprofit organizations across the corridor.
